Titles
When Factions came out, so did titles. What title, to what extent intrests or suprises you?
Well to begin, I'm very suprised the 'Survivor' titles dont keep going or go until 5 or so. Yes, it'd be much MUCH harder to get these, but like 'Hero' titles, I'd think it keeps going. As far as drinking titles....I'm not sure how people can handle that. 1,000 minutes just sitting there watching your character get drunk?Hm...
PvE titles that intrest me :
Survivor(1-3)
Cartographer 90% & up
Wisdom title track
Treasure Chest title track(Not sure of exact name)
As far as PvP titles go :
Hero titles r6 & up
Having a gladiator title at all
And of course, Champion Titles
What titles intrest or suprise you?

lol Drunkard surprised me the most, actually.
After that, nothing really was surprising... TBH I'm waiting for a clothes-horse title.

I still like my Ally of the Luxons title until I got too bored with ABs to farm it anymore. I'm sitting at 570,000 Luxon faction transferred with another 200k I've spent on Jadeite. :3 I don't think it's worth the time invested to max it since it's pretty much the same as with the Emote titles.... it just gets ridiculous at the end. Anyone who actually can get to 10,000,000 million Luxon faction transferred is sick. :O

Titles that surprised me mostly?
- Exploration titles: I really never expected something I have always liked to do would be rewarded like this).
- Drunkard title: Funny, and most that have done it know that it's not just about double-clicking a few times every few minutes, the true drunkards are roleplaying or chatting as time passes and drinking is just an excuse to do it, and there's a good reward for them I frankly didn't expect.
- Title maximization titles (Kind of a Big Deal and People Know Me): Really nice, the title of the titles, the ultimate title. A really nice reward for people who do different things, and want to be known for that.
What I don't like? I really don't feel that people that do different things can actually master all of them. There should be titles for achieving titles at a lower tier, because you may really not feel like drinking 10.000 minutes or unlocking 10.000 high-end chests. Or also, first tiers for certain titles being considerably high, for example, 1.000 minutes, 250.000 faction donated to alliance, 100 high-end chests unlocked/rare items identified, etc. But my idea was not equal to A.Net's, and I'm not going to hate them or demand changes because GW is not my masterpiece and I am only one of it's admirers. I have the freedom to understand their art or stop to admire it.

If first tiers for all titles were low, everyone would have them - look at cartographer 60%. You get that naturally playing through the game. Same with protector - it takes almost no work to get it and that's a max title.
IMO even first levels should be moderately hard to get: something you'd have to put a bit of effort into.

Depends which game. I finished Factions with my Warrior and had around 55%.

Wisdom Title: Doesn't impress me at all, it's a money sink title.
Treasure Hunter Title: Same as above
Cartographer Title: This title is ok, but it's not that difficult until 90%.
Survivor Title: Easily farmed/bought, doesn't take that much skill.
Drunkard Title: Again, another money sink title. It proves you have money.
Protector Title: Both of them are quite easy, but still quite impressive.
Skill Hunter Title: Not so much as a money sink, shows skill if you have all elites capped.
Gladiator Title: Not that hard to get. It shows you can work with strangers.
Hero Title: This takes more time then skill.
Lucky Title: AKA the AFK title, this is nothing.
Allegiance Title: Proves that you like ABing, not impressive.
Champion Title: It's a nice title, shows that you've PvPed with some good people.
KoaBD: Getting 5 maxed titles does take time, very impressive.

strange opinion arkantos, considering you list only 4 titles that appear to be in any way even slightly impressive to you.

I was surprised with the drunkard & lucky titles. The only skill they require is the ability to earn enough gold to be able to afford to blow it on alcohol or tickets. I got the "charmed" title last night by buying a bunch of tickets, placing my character on a circle, and then going off to cook dinner, watch a movie, and going to bed!
I think the title that impresses me most in the PvE side is the Skill hunter title. It takes time and skill to get every skill capped (some more than others :P )
The cartographers titles (over 90%) are pretty impressive, too. Even harder for professions with no running skills.

Are you serious? I can't believe you think that Gladiator is an easy title to get... With only 4 players you must work very well together.... Champion is also a very hard title to get... You must work as a team VERY well.
Umm... you can buy all titles with money except Gladiator/Champion Titles...
You can buy golds.
Pay for power leveling.
Pay for fame.
Pay for people to get you masters.
Pay for people to cap you elites.
Pay for people to get you faction.
My Views
Wisdom Title: First Couple "Tiers" easily gotten. Anything past 4 impresses me.
Treasure Hunter Title: First Couple "Tiers" easily gotten. Anything past 4 impresses me.
Cartographer Title: Not really impressed until 90%+
Survivor Title: First not really impressive. Second/Third impress me.
Drunkard Title: Impresses me that you could drink that much :P
Protector Title: Impresses me.
Skill Hunter Title: Any "tier" in this one impresses me.
Gladiator Title: VERY impressed with this one! With only 4 people per team your team needs to work very hard to get a point.
Lucky Title: Not impressed.
Allegiance Title: Impressive title.
Champion Title: One of the titles I respect the most. GvG requires a lot of skill to get Champion points.
KoaBD: Impressive right now. When Night Fall comes this one will probably be easily obtainable.

WHY would you allow anyone access to your account so they could go and get the elites, faction, or do anything else with your account? That's just asking for trouble and is down-right stupid. (unless you know the other person personally (IRL) and know them to be very trustworthy)
But, for the power leveling & masters, you've got a point.

You can let people run you through missions to get the master reward.
You can do the same with elite bosses.
You can pay a r12 to let you go along on his uber leet groups
You can pay people to run you through faction-rewarding quests.
You can buy unid. golds
You don't need to let anyone on your account.

Heres what can impress a few players. My main character is an E/N and i have these titles for him: Protector of Tyria, Protector of Cantha, Tyrian Grandmaster Cartographer, and Canthan Grandmaster Cartographer. I realy havent been working on any other titles but I have a couple that are almost max. Granted I have been playing the game since the Profescies campain went retail in April of 2005, so I had a head start on a few. Just getting the mapping titles on an Elementalist is a major pain (if they had a title for the most deaths I would probably have it), but with a bit of patience it can be done. I agree some titles are for the birds, but what other way can A-Net and NC-Soft come up with to make players other than farmers get interested in finding new places to explore and finding the chests that have the good stuff in them. Titles can prove 2 things: How much gold you have, or how much time you have invested into the game. Me I like to earn my titles myself without help(although mapping with my Elementalit I needed a few friends to help in several areas). Its in the spirit of the game to do things yourself or with friends, so go have fun getting what you want.

I can only speak for the few titles I have myself.
Tyrian cartographer will get to about 60% when you do all the quests and missions.
Cathan is a lot less.
So both don't impress me, except when at 90% or more.
The the protector titles (with Pugs) is something else.
Getting Tyrian protectors is not that hard, I think most of the bonusses are even henchable. It just takes time and you have to know how to handle the bonus.
Cathan protectors is more difficult.
The last few weeks I've been getting this one on my 4 Tyrian characters and since I have it, i'm helping others out with masters or just general mission.
Today i've helped several groups out on Vizunah Square and only had one or two master times. Ended a couple of times between 25.10 and 25.55, but that's not fast enough.
It's the two teams that makes this one somewhat unpredictable.
In the end, if you don't entirely screw up, you will be able to get those titles.
It's just joining every available team and hope they can get you masters.
It happened quite a few times that a general team made masters on one of the more difficult missions.
Perhaps they should link the 'lucky' title to Cathan protector
I think the survival title on any Pug player that did never quit is impressive.
That is, a pug player that was valuable to the team.
I'll never get survivor on any of my characters since I Pug and don't want to hench all the time. I don't die on every mission anymore, but sometimes i'm just in the wrong location and die.

Any title which doesn't require a ton of grind and is fun to achieve is a good title in my book. I like the protector titles, although most of the bonuses are too easy to get.
The survivor title is good, although it's too bad existing chars can't get it.
Exploration title is good until about 95% where you realize you need to revisit every zone and hug every wall. That gets old VERY fast.
All the other titles, bleh! Too much grind involved.
